The Xbox Wireless Controller (Series X|S, One, Elite Series) uses the standard Gamepad API mapping:
| Button | Index | Property | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 0 | pressed/value | Primary action (green) |
| B | 1 | pressed/value | Cancel action (red) |
| X | 2 | pressed/value | Interact (blue) |
| Y | 3 | pressed/value | Menu (yellow) |
| LB | 4 | pressed | Bumper (left) |
| RB | 5 | pressed | Bumper (right) |
| LT | 6 | value 0.0–1.0 | Analog trigger (left) |
| RT | 7 | value 0.0–1.0 | Analog trigger (right) |
| SELECT | 8 | pressed | Back button |
| START | 9 | pressed | Menu button |
| L3 | 10 | pressed | Left stick click |
| R3 | 11 | pressed | Right stick click |
Xbox controller triggers (LT and RT) report analog values from 0.0 (fully released) to 1.0 (fully depressed). Use the trigger gauge meters above to measure precise trigger depth. This is useful for games like Racing Simulator, Gran Turismo, or Forza where throttle control is critical.
Xbox Wireless Controllers support the vibrationActuator API with dual-rumble (strong + weak)
motors. Click the "Test Left Motor" and "Test Right Motor" buttons to verify haptic feedback. If your browser
doesn't support haptics, the card will shake visually as a fallback.
| Game | Stick | Deadzone Setting |
|---|---|---|
| Call of Duty: MW3 | Both | 5-8% |
| Halo Infinite | Both | 8-10% |
| Gears 5 | Both | 10-12% |
| Fortnite | Both | 10-12% |
| Rocket League | Both | 5-7% |
Stick drift occurs when an analog stick registers movement without being touched. It's typically caused by worn potentiometer sensors, dust accumulation, or mechanical wear of the conductive film inside the stick module. This results in unintended movement in games.
A perfect circle has 0% circularity error. Grade A (under 2.5%) is excellent, Grade B (2.5-6.5%) is acceptable with minor deadzone adjustment, and Grade C (over 6.5%) indicates significant wear requiring cleaning or replacement.
Yes, for minor drift you can try increasing in-game deadzone settings, cleaning with compressed air, or applying electronic contact cleaner. For severe drift, the potentiometer modules need replacement.
